Jurassic Park III is a 2001 American science fiction action film directed by Joe Johnston. It is the third installment in the Jurassic Park franchise and the final film in the original trilogy, following The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997). In the movie, the Spinosaurus replaces the Tyrannosaurus as the main antagonist, taking the place of the previous two films' iconic predator. In the later Jurassic World films, the Spinosaurus skeleton is also shown several times on the silver screen.

With hands-on access to museum collections of Spinosaurus fossil castings, ILM artist Bitan faithfully recreated the Spinosaurus skeleton, not only based on existing fossil details but also matching the anatomical design seen in the movie.
The skeleton is made of high-quality bronze with a fossil-pattern patina.
